You need (for about 12 cupcakes):
500 g soft unsalted butter
500 g icing sugar
grated tonka bean
2 tbsp vanilla extract
well-pigmented food coloring (amount depends on the color you want to achieve)
Beat the butter until fluffy and creamy. Add the icing sugar spoon by spoon and mix until well combined. Add the vanilla extract, the food coloring and a small amount of freshly grated tonka bean while mixing. Of course you can replace the vanilla and tonka bean by any flavor you like.
Of course you can add any flavor of your choice.
Now fill the buttercream into a piping bag you prepared with your favorite piping tip and start piping!
